I think these photos of Arwen look so funny. Due to the angle they were taken at, she looks really plump when she's really quite a petite little lady!

My little Aragorny was really snuggly at the weekend. He spent most of the weekend following me around and kept crawling into my lap for some serious ear and chin scratching.

Arwen has been keeping Matt and I amused by rolling around on our bed, proffering her tum tum for rubs until she almost rolls herself off the edge. Dafty cat.

We've had Aragorn & Arwen for exactly a year.

It's gone so fast. I'm so glad that we got loads of photos of them when they were babies. Looking at them now, I just can't believe that they were ever able to sit in the palms of my hands.

I love my babies to bits. We got them when I was still feeling uncomfortable in the house, and they really made getting used to the house a much more pleasant experience. They have always been loving, wily and comical and life just wouldn't be the same without them. I look forward to getting home after work because I know they're going to be sat on the stairs waiting for me.

Aragorn & Arwen are loving having us at home this week. I'm so glad that they're such friendly, sociable cattens.

Aragorn is always following me around the house and if I shut him out of a room he just sits and yaps outside until I come out or let him in. Bless him.

Arwen is the same, except that she sometimes likes to take herself off on her own and will have a quiet snooze underneath the bed or on the windowsill in my computer room.

I love my babies and my babies love me :)

Poor Aragorny.....

My Little Man was poorly yesterday evening. He was sick a couple of times and had a sore bum bum and spent the majority of the evening curled up in his bed being very quiet.

Me, being me, I was checking on him every 5 minutes and insisted that if he wasn't any better in the morning that we would be taking him to the emergency vet.

He was fine in the morning. Ate up his breakfast with his usual enthusiasm, then he just suddenly became out of sorts. He's not eaten anything out of the ordinary. At least we don't think.

Anyway, he didn't touch any of his dinner, but late in the night he perked up a bit and came downstairs. He'd finally been able to go to the toilet and he's had a bit of a runny bum, but after he'd got whatever it was out of his system he ate some of his dinner.

I checked on him at about 5 this morning and he was a lot more responsive, and just before I got up this morning he came in for a cuddle and to my delight, as soon as he heard Matt open the door to his spare room, Aragorn was up like a shot and crying for his breakfast like normal.

I'm so glad that he's back to normal. I'm going to keep an eye on what he eats today.

I was so worried about him last night. I couldn't bear it if anything happened to my Little Man. He's my baby.

He's been following me from room to room today. I've got the fan going in here and although he has my sympathies, he did look so comical spread-eagled on the floor.

I think Arwen is hiding under the bed. It's probably dark and cool under there. Lucky her.

You may remember that I bought Aragorn a radiator bed a few weeks ago. He's spent this time sizing it up with some suspicion, but has been refusing to settle on it for more than a few seconds.

I walk out of the living room last night, and there's my Aragorn, snuggled happily as can be on the radiator bed looking mightily pleased with himself! I wish I had the camera with me, he looked impossibly adorable.

For the next few minutes he had to endure me squealing excitedly at him and exclaiming what a good and clever boy he was for not wasting his mummy's money.

Finally managed to get some more pictures of Aragorn & Arwen yesterday. They were being really sweet to each other yesterday, sharing the same bean bag and grooming each other.

Radiator Bed

I've been after a radiator bed for Aragorn and finally found a decent one at a reasonable price. I've just been informed that it has been despatched.

I hope Aragorn appreciates it after all this :P

I wanted to get him a little treat as he's not as keen on the scratching post tree as Arwen is. I've noticed that whenever the radiator is on, he likes to sleep on top of the boxes that we still have stacked up against the wall next to it. He probably won't be very interested in it at first but I'm going to endeavour to tempt him by putting food on there for him. I'm sure he'll make friends with it relatively quickly after that :P

I'll have to get some recent photos of Aragorn & Arwen done as it's been a while since I posted pictures of them on here.

They're still absolutely lovely and affectionate and I love spending time with them.

Snuggling with Aragorn

Aragorn was such a good boy last night.

We sometimes let them both into the bedroom at night, but we often have to chuck them out because they're playing around and making too much noise.

Last night though, Aragorn was very affectionate. He dug his way under the duvet and snuggled up against me, before he decided he wanted more of a cuddle so he snuggled underneath my arm and rested his head on my shoulder. He looked so adorable and peaceful, and he was still half under the duvet.

I think Aragorn & Arwen have really enjoyed having roguesolo and I at home over Christmas. They've had a bonus today as well because I could barely talk this morning and my throat is still incredibly painful. So I'm not in work and I asked if I could take this week as holiday as I'd rather not take it as sick. I'll hopefully get that sorted out tomorrow.

Anyway, Arwen absolutely loves her new activity centre. She plays on it all the time like a mad thing and she's actually scratching that and not the floor as much now. She's taken to sleeping on it as well which probably has a lot to do with it being close to the radiator! Matt was able to get some pictures of her on it a couple of weeks ago:

I feel so lucky that we have two incredibly affectionate kitties.

Aragorn is a bit of a greedy so-and-so. He spends most of his time being the sentinel of the kitchen door. It's so funny when you see him sitting there always waiting for it to be opened because he knows that's where the food comes from.

He's still very much a mummy's boy and he prefers to snuggle on my lap, particuarly if I'm sitting cross-legged. He's so gorgeous :)

Arwen is also very affectionate. The amount of times I've heard her crying outside the door, just so she can come in and jump on my lap for some attention :)

Neutering

My poor babies have had quite a traumatic day.

Arwen didn't like being back in her carrier at all and there were many protesting meows in the car on the way to the vets.

It was quite a wrench to let somebody else take them away, and when we got back home it felt so strange to not have two bundles of fur come tumbling down the stairs to greet us. It just made us realise how much a part of our lives Aragorn & Arwen have become.

The operations went absolutely fine and we were able to pick them up after the general grogginess had worn off. Poor Aragorn was feeling very grumpy. The nurse mentioned that he'd been hissing at her a lot, and I can't blame him really! The nurse herself is lovely, but I wouldn't be too happy to be taken away from my nice warm home to have "stuff done"!

He was very yowly on the way home which was unlike him, but he was much happier when he was back at home and the first thing he did was run down to the kitchen demanding food! We'd been advised to avoid feeding them this evening if we could, or to just give them a little food. We gave them a quater of their usual kitty food and Aragorn wolfed it down. In fact, he was his usual sprightly self within minutes of being back home. Although both of our babies have been wary of each other since they got home. Probably because they both smell of vets!

Arwen was quite unsteady on her feet and was very skittish. She was bounding from room to room, not settling anywhere. It was just like when we first brought her home. Poor thing. She eventually found a bit of peace under the bed where it was dark and quiet, and also sought refuge in one of my shoe boxes. Bless her.

She's had something more to eat and is generally a lot more confident in her surroundings again now. Poor thing doesn't know what's happened to her.

Aragorn had a cuddle with me earlier. He clambered into my lap and flopped into his favourite position in the crook of my arm and had a snooze for a while all curled up. I adore that little man.

They've both been microchipped as well. It cost less to have them both done during the neutering. I'm glad that we've got them in with a vets that we like and trust.

During dinner Matt and I both commented on how we'd both had worse case scenarios about one or both of them not waking up. Just goes to show that Matt's fallen for them as well to get that worried. I think we were both ecstatic to have them back home with us.

Sleepy Moomin Kitties

Aragorn & Arwen have got the right idea in this weather. They've chosen a new bed for themselves: our king size bed.

Aragorn especially looked really funny so I had to quickly and quietly get the camera......

It was really nice spending the day with Aragorn & Arwen yesterday; especially watching Arwen staring out the window, completely fascinated by the snow falling. Aragorn also really made me laugh just by the way he parked himself next to the radiator. I think he had the right idea :P
